For already busy brokers, improving your knowledge and professional requirements may seem an additional burden after years spent achieving their industry qualifications.
But Zurich Insider’s CPD portal, launching in January, is the perfect way for brokers to keep their CPD hours topped up.
Here are three reasons why Zurich Insider is set to make the CPD process a whole lot easier for brokers:

Simple and convenient to use
Zurich Insider’s CII-accredited CPD portal can help brokers earn and record either structured or unstructured CPD hours (dependent upon an individual’s development and learning needs), by simply reading a Zurich Insider article and then answering three related multiple-choice questions about the story. Once logged in, the simple, user-friendly CPD dashboard, will also log the progress of each individual broker and issue approved online certificates.
Improved standing with customers
The importance of keeping on top of CPD cannot be underestimated, especially with increased scrutiny from the public – as well as a more powerful Financial Conduct Authority.
Non-compliance with CPD requirements can also result in the withdrawal of a member’s right to use a CII designation. And being a member of a respected and trusted professional institute, such as the CII, can only help a broker’s standing with existing and potential customers, ensuring insurance intermediaries maintain their competence in an increasingly complex and fast-changing industry.
Interesting content aligned with CPD goals
Not only will brokers be able to earn CPD hours on Zurich Insider, the website will continue to be a source of interesting and informative content for brokers in 2015.

Brokers who want to become and remain qualified members of their professional body – the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) – must undertake CPD learning activity each year, to prove that their skills and industry knowledge remain up-to-date.
A qualified broker will need to complete a minimum of 35 hours compulsory CPD in a 12-month period, gained through ‘structured’ (e.g. seminars, lectures and e-learning) and ‘unstructured’ (e.g. reading journals or viewing online videos) learning. Of this at least 21 hours must be structured CPD.
The new Zurich Insider service will help brokers keep up with some of these requirements with the minimum effort.
So, resolve to hit the New Year running, with Zurich Insider’s CPD portal – a great way to complete your learning outcomes, in cumulative, bite-sized chunks.
